Originally I just wanted to paint an astronaut on the moon, with the Earth in the background, so it escalated rather quickly to the moon being cheese, and having 2 astronauts (Armstrong and Aldrin) having a picnic. I had a hard choice between using the progressive flag and doing a satirical painting, or using the American flag. In the end I finally went for the American flag, as I wanted to enjoy looking at it!
